You need to consider that at 35% you'll have less affiliates wanting to promote you, which in the long run could cost you more than paying out 50% from the start.
Heck if you're with ccbill you can even quietly have the affiliate share in the processing fees; they don't disclose which programs do that. (Good for the programs, not so good for us affiliates)
