I was in the Stanley Cup riot in Vancouver and I've had lots of encounters in my life with police when I was younger. Yet somehow I didn't ever get tazered, beaten up, pepper sprayed or trampled by a horse. If I'm in a group of people and the police, on horseback none the less, are telling me to backup. I'm going to fucking backup. Pretty simple.
If you're in a group of protestors and a police officer rides his horse through the crowd and crushes you while you're just standing in a group of quiet protestors, that's one thing. When you're at the front of a group of protestors and cops are telling you to back up yet you're standing there yelling, well it just goes to prove there's no victims, only volunteers.
