How a bad day can turn really good.. True Story
So yesterday morning I was bickering with my wife about some bullshit and in a lot of relationships it is always about little things and they turn into stupid arguments. So yesterday morning was one of those mornings, I am pissed off the wife is pissed off and she storms out of the house.. an hour later I text her to see where she is at and she text me back saying she is in our office. I was pissed so there was no way I was also going to our office and create an atmosphere that no one wants to be in.
So I say to myself "fuck it" and I took a short walk over to the "Green Valley" casino to play a couple of hands of poker and clear my head, I take $200 out of the ATM ( I wasn't going to play more) and i go to the poker room to get my seat. I got my seat on a $1.00 - $2.00 No Limit game. I am settling in and the dealer asks if I want a hand (I didn't have chips yet because the poker room host was getting them still) and I tell the dealer, sure go ahead.
Hands are dealt and I am right off the button, so I have good position. I look at my hole cards and I see pocket 7's. The action is on me and i bet $10.00 bucks I get 2 callers and the flop comes 6 6 Ace. I feel pretty confident but was worried about the Ace more then a 6. I figured a 6 should have been folded after a pre-flop bet. So everyone checks. The turn comes up another 7, I now made my full house, so no worries about an Ace anymore so I fire $25.00 in the pot the pot was $33.00 bucks so it was a decent size bet. I get one caller and the guy who I expect had an Ace folded, he must have thought I held a 6.
The River card comes up and I see another 7, I made quad 7's and I was feeling pretty good, I go all inn and the one player left calls me, I stand up and throw my pocket 7's open. The other player yells JACKOT and I was like .. "what?" He stands up and shows pocket 6"s... this guy slow played his quads all the way to the river and let me catch my four of a kind. He let me do all the betting and just called all the way through.
The jackpot at Green Valley was up to about $320.000 and the way they pay it out is $45.000 to the losing hand (my opponent) and $$30.000 to the winning hand (me). the rest of the money gets divided between every poker player in any of the "Station Casinos" playing at the time the Jackpot hit, that table share came out to $1208.00 per player. So I caught $31.650 including the jackpot, the table share and the pot.
I called my wife and she thought I was kidding at first so i made her come to the casino and I think we both forgot what we were fighting about.
So my day started bad but turned real nice...
Just wanted to share the story, the rush of hitting that hand is unreal, just the fact I had quad 7's made me feel so confident and no way i expected the other guy to have quad 6's.
