Thank you for contacting me to express your support for the Protect our Children Act of 2008. As a mother and a grandmother myself, I greatly admire your desire to engage in this issue. I welcome the opportunity to respond.

I strongly supported the passage - and was a cosponsor of - the Protect our Children Act of 2008 (Public Law No. 110-401), which was introduced by Senator Joe Biden (D-DE). It is important legislation that will give law enforcement the funding and tools they need to stop internet predators. On September 25, 2008, it passed the Senate with an amendment by Unanimous Consent and was approved by the House of Representatives on September 27, 2008 by voice vote. Then on October 13, 2008, President Bush signed the bill into law.
