I have a friend that ended up getting divorced because of WOW. She is one of those people that is obsessive about anything she does so when she started playing WOW she got consumed by it. She was bad enough that at one point her computer went down. Another friend of mine told her he thought it was memory or hard drive and he would come over on Saturday to look at and fix it. This was a thursday night. She couldn't wait so she sent her then husband to Walmart to buy her a new computer. She stayed up until 4 am installing the game then just stayed up and went to work at 6am.
My buddy went out on Satuday and looked at her old computer. It was a single memory stick that was fixed with $30. She spent $1000 to get a new computer because she couldn't wait 36 hours to play the game.
A few months later she was divorced. The best part is she moved into an apartment and met a guy in the game. She flew him across the country to live with her. He was 24 and she is 39. He had never had a job and literally lived at home with his mom. He didn't work and just stayed home all day working on their guild for the game. After about 6 months she booted him out and payed for him to move back across the country and move back in with his mom.
