I don't see what the huge commotion is about here.
You had that server for 12 months, and the hard drive died.
We were cloning it for you with our disk duplicator and yes, that takes a long time.
You apparently couldn't stand to wait for that to finish up and decided to lash out and abuse us.

I replied with a simple, TRUE STATEMENT.
Hard drives will die. Every drive WILL die. Anything mechanical in a server, at some point, WILL die.
New drives can die right away even!

Sorry bro, but we spent a lot of time on this for you - hard drive failures are a fact of life -- we even invested in a $1,000 disk duplicator for our clients who have no backups and desperately need to try cloning their drive for their data.

This works about 80% of the time on a dead drive, who know's if it would've with yours as you never even let it finish.
