Russians are not scammers, they are just very limited in the type of business they can do there, as there is no paypal, no credit card processing, no paypal processing, bureaucracy and taxes are 10 times worse than USA for creating a startup company with bank accounts for the company as are the availability of startup funds considering how little they earn vs the startup costs (e.g. photo cameras and computers cost 3 times more in Russia than in USA). They're cool people just like in the USA, just forced into using non-corporate ways to get by and earn a living.
About Mafia - 18 years ago doing business in Russia was illegal and got you to jail, everything was 100% owned by state. When capitalism came _everyone_ who went into business was called Mafiya.
