I know where you are coming from but I have to differ. (not on the alcohol, but the bed "time")
normally if I go to bed sober and with no pills I will lay there for hours before sleep comes no matter how tider I was when I went to bed.
For years I ran a construction company with my friends, and you have no idea how many times I came home in the evening tired as hell only to lay there sleepless until my alarm went off and I was out the door again for another day. One time I didn't sleep for three days and I worked twelve hours each one of those days.
Unless I eat a Valume going to bed at a decent hour is pointless, I will just lay there.
