Sounds to me that this tool post on his blog from that hoax email that has been going around about this very topic. While I am almost convinced it is true they have yet to step forward and make any such claim.
This is what I hate about the internet... someone finds something or reads something and it somehow translates to fact or reality for them even if it is the furthest thing from it. They don't even bother to try to confirm it as true. "But... I saw it on the internet."
