Good idea Smokey....can't believe i didn't think of that one.
My son had some issues at the dentist. When i realized he's wasn't having it (laying on the dentist bed, etc) i shoved him off the bed and climb on myself saying that I wanted the after-dentist treat bag.
The dentist totally played along and was saying how big the bag of goodies really is. The dentist and I had this whole conversion about the goodie bag and all the treats inside. Now my son is begging climb back on the bed.
I told to him to back off because daddy wanted to do his time with the dentist so I can get the treats. Now my son is flustered and trying to push me of the bed...haha.
The dentist ask me, "should we give him one more try?" I said "nope..he passed up his turn." My son starts screaming and crying.....and i kept telling him, "you missed it man....maybe next time."
Now my son is really pissed. I finally told him "ONLY if you do it right and the way the dentist tells you, THEN you can try it again." And the dentist is telling him, "Last time because your dad is ready to go with his big treat bag."
My son pushed me off the bed, jumped on, through himself back, opened wide and was the perfect patient for the whole cleaning....LOL
Kids are to funny....probably wasn't best way to handle it (ie, pseudo bribe...as we never use bribes at all over here) but got the job done none the less.
