Well, I am not a Rocket Scientist but I am a Golfer, so let me start with your oddity number 1 :
Spin of the ball (airflow) makes a
sliced ball fade to the right, angle of the club surface makes a
pushed ball go right on a straight line (no atmosphere needed).
How many people know the difference between a slice and a push?
Those who do know the difference, how many would be able to tell which is which watching footage from the moon?
And wouldn't they just say slice anyway to get a few laughs from the audience?
