The series came later. It originally started with a mini series run. I can't watch that show because well... I was round 5th or 6th grade then. I think 6th, and we had a 1 year old cocker spaniel named Roscoe. Well my sister and I were watching V and had let the dog out for awhile. We lived in a fairly rural area with a huge yard so it was the norm for us to let the dog out without a leash. We forgot he was outside and sure enough later that night he got hit and killed. It was before she show was over that we forgot. So always makes for a bad memory for me to think about that show.
