Not a super big sweets eater.
Think something along the lines of a roasted banana still in its skin, then split and having some condensed milk and brown sugar poured on it fits in well with not to sweet. Same can be said of a decent flan. I also really like a deep fried flour tortilla wedge, coated in sugar and cinnamon with a dollop of real whipped cream and a drizzle of some sort of fruit compote or syrup.
Guess it really depends on the meal before hand. Often the more hearty or rich of a meal upfront the lighter of a dessert I would want. For instance I just can not take a chocolate cake or even a chocolate mousse after a steak dinner with full sides. Just way to rich. About as rich as I would go on a dinner like that would be perhaps a piece of cobbler, depending on what fruit was in season or a piece of an apple tart.
Fruit sorbets are also good and always light. Ice creams can be great but so can puddings. Just has to be homemade and not be given to much of it.
