100% agree on targeting. Also, I agree with you, most of the action is "surfing" the influence of your followers. Also, pushing content onto non-followers who are very
influential can also yield traffic when they RT.

If you open an account, start spamming nothing but aff links, you're only friends will be other bots.

If you randomly follow people or niche target them, and you interact with them, rt posts, and talk to the people... the random groups, will respond as much as the targeted niches.

My targeted accounts will get at least 1% of the clicks, from my following. One of our cooking accounts, which is random followings does about 2.5% clicks... Btw, these are avg's for every link posted.

So you don't have to be social, you don't have to target a niched group... but the more you match things up, the more you add in rather than take out... the better the end results will be for you when it comes to global reach.
