I just had a hard time keeping them and burning money each year.
I keep my good ones or ones that I know have value beyond the reg. fee.
I also do a lot locally for instance and ended up with a lot of local domains that only make real sense to someone that lives around me or does that sort of thing.
Then another example. I ended up with all sorts of domain names based after one of the HBO sex shows. Each time the show aired I would make a few bucks. Thought it was a good idea but well long term it was not. The number of domains versus the upkeep did not make the profit worthwhile so I dropped them. If someone wants them they let just a short while ago and are probably available via many domain services.
I also killed a few I bought under the influence or something. Those times when you think you scored a killer name until morning and you realize that you spelled it all wrong.
