A canadian in British Columbia making $120k a year pays a grand total of 43.7% of his income in taxes.
That is considerably more than most Americans making the same amount are taxed, depending on the state that they live in.

Hehe, that's with Canadian insurance costs added in... Once you add our costs on, well... we get taxed far more. That's before state tax too, for us.. And the tax they get also includes things like: Legal music downloads, they also pay you back on gas/heating costs (in Alberta at least) and other random things - that drop your tax rate.
