This is a specious argument. Additionally, if you really believe this and are in favor of gay marriage you'd also be a hypocrite since what you're advocating is an abridgment of the right to one's opinion.

The purpose of monogamous marriage is to clearly codify the transference of property, assess taxes, and ensure the stability of a population. Reproduction, families and the passing down of traditions occur without marriage just as easily as they do
with marriage. There are plenty of couples who aren't legally married and have happy families just as there are married couples without children.
