but you know what sucks with doing it that way.....the huge file sizes compared to mini-dv captures.

I have a Geforce4 TI4600 with digital video in/out. One hour of vhs capture (old family video) was over 90gb.

So I just attached the vcr to my vx-2000 and sent it through the camera via composite to the computer via firewire.

one hour of capture from the camera is about 13-14gb

Unless I was doing it wrong with my video card, you should try to use a mini-dv camera that has composite inputs and firewire to your computer.
