Most of them will be back next year. And while the media played up the Cinderella aspect of it, Butler has been and up-and-coming team for a few years. I think they were in the coach's Top 10 for the pre-season. So they still have a shot at it.
There were lots of fitting comparisons made between the team and the fictional Hickory Huskers. I've read enough of your posts to know that you seem to be a hoops fan, Mutt, so you may already know this, but Milan...the real life Hickory Huskers...was not quite the Cinderella story that the movie makes them out to be either. They had went to the state semi-finals the year before returning to win the championship the next year.
So maybe Butler will follow the footsteps of the real life Hoosiers, and take it all home next time around.
As far as the NBA goes...who knows? Hayward is only a sophomore, so it will be interesting to see how he evolves as a player over the next couple of years.
