Seriously, this thing has been freaking me out so bad I'm taking a head in the sand approach to it at this point. There's fuck all I can do to stop it. When it gets here I will do what I can to help the clean up efforts. There is a very strong chance my beaches will never be the same.
Maybe I'll spend next weekend on Sand Key with a grouper sandwich and savor the last moments. It's depressing. Local seafood industry is going to cave, tourism is going to get even worse, unemployment will rise, property values will fall, wildlife will suffer and die. It is a complete economic and environmental disaster. Louisiana is feeling it now, it;s just the tip of the iceburg. Everyone on the gulf will suffer. We will all share the same fate.

The one good thing that the south has on its side is hurricanes. A hurricane will clean that stuff up in a jiffy. They gotta stop the leak though! Its already touching my Parish in Louisiana.
