13 y/o is not a child. In medical terminology such a person is a TEENAGER. So it's absolutely normal if a teenager is interesting in subject of an opposite sex (boys are interested in girls and girls are interested in boys). This not an aberration. The real problem if 13 y/o male is not interested in females and it's even worse if he is interested in other males...
