Dont know the savings in dollars, but I know it makes no sense to keep super heated water at the ready 24/7. And a lower temp means it has to run for less time, and less often.
Stick a thermometer in your fridge and freezer and adjust. If you keep your freezer mostly empty, fill it up with ice or something. Thermal mass and all that.
Try LED lights.

That's a great idea on the water heater.... I never would have thought of that.

I wonder if there's a way to put a water heater on a timer or something?
