Best way save is install a new system if what you have is old and very inefficient.
I had a new system installed a few yrs ago and cut my electric bill by 2/3, as its all electric heat and appliances. It took 2 yrs approx. to recoup the investment was def worth it.

As a bonus I'm now comfortable and the heat or AC does not run constantly.
