Ok here we go.. Saint Paul Civic Center 1974. I was 17, my first real big city rock concert..
We stopped by some longhair friend of my longhair friend. Everyone, including me, had foot long hair in 74.. so me and my bud stop by this house on east Lake St to "prepare" for the concert
.. and this dude in South Mpls had all the refreshments. lol
Then we head east down Lake to Saint Paul in his 1966 Rambler on a Saturday night feeling no pain. lol
And yes the place "was just a haze" of smoke by the time Grand Funk took the stage. I still remember the electricty when the drums first hit.
The thing I remember is the way the drummer filled the stadium as he first hit the drums. Awsom drums coming through with mega power. First song, first sound... What a thrill.
