I have a Q6600 server which runs at 100% CPU load most of the time. I measured its consumption at 150W under full load, or about 1314kWh per year, which in my area ends up being about $USD225.
Undervolting the CPU reduced the consumption by 75W, which halves running the cost. The beauty of undervolting is that it doesn't affect performance one bit since the CPU is still running at exactly the same frequency... just a bit cooler.
