Stalin did not stop the Nazi's. The Soviet soldiers and officers stopped the Nazi's. Do not even think that Stalin was some kind of military genius.
Stalin weakened the Soviet military by purging (executing) officers but stopped the purges when WW2 began.
Before ww2, Stalin was making more "mistakes" than Adolf Hitler. But during ww2, Stalin made less mistakes than Hitler. That is the only good thing I can say about Stalin.
