May I offer a counter argument?
The days of the impulse buyer are over, what you suggest is marketing towards those impulse buyers, but they are a shrinking market. Instead, the only remaining buyer is the HARDCORE porn buyer. The guy who consumes a lot of porn. He is a seasoned buyer and wants to see quite a bit of what a site has to offer before he spends his money.
Personally, I would never join a site before I've seen at least 20 or 30 minutes worth of video from different scenes so I know it's not a scam. Trust me, if you talk to your members they will tell you they looked around a bit before joining, watched some videos, did some searching, etc.
Anyway, just another way to look at it.
