I don't know everything the Gov has done, but they have hit some Americans and I'm sure they will start reaching into friendly Countries soon enough. While they can't take them all down, they do have a lot more power than we do with the courts when it comes to this type of action. This is being taken like an act of terrorism on our nations income machine.
At first it sounded more like counterfeiting was the main target - rather bad piracy and very understandable. But if they're going after people that abuse dmca then this could be a huge game changer. It's not just abusing sites, it's abusing hosts, people, backbones, all of it... it doesn't look like they are playing any games here - they just need more time really.
If they do, it will give us more power in the Courts, this could vastly change things.
