It boils down to being a numbers game. You can talk to 20 people and 19 of them can be flakes... the question is whether or not that remaining 1 makes up for the other 19.

true, i had similar experiences in my previous jobs as well. but still it seems to be worse in this business and considering that a trip to a show like this costs me about $2.5k to $3k because of the flights it's simply not worth it anymore. nowadays i profit from my show visits in the past and do deals on ICQ with people who don't attend either.
