i checked my answering machine and it turns out obama didn't call me beforehand to ask me if he should mention it. funny, i guess obama doesn't give a fuck about my opinion. If he had asked me, I'd have said, "Look, you corporate dick-sucking puppet, there are REAL FUCKING PROBLEMS in this country and I don't really give a fuck what you think about a mosque...".
the obama political machine is very caluclated so I assume he specifically chose to make an issue of it. it looks to me like he believes taking a stand for the first amendment and private property could be a winning issue.
if him talking about it pisses off you guys to the point that you actually gain a majority in november, then cool, thats what i'd like to see happen.
but, statistically thats unlikely.
if you are asking me if I believe that a group of private muslims should have the right to build a mosque in a privately owned building two blocks away from the attack site, then there is only one possible and legal answer. Yes, they have that right, even if to me personally it seems an odd economic choice, they have the right.
