Also, there are "clean" and "dirty" lists of forums. If you direct-spam forums that are randomly gathered from internet - you will get abuses, no doubts, and if you have a lot of them - you can get your hosting account shut down, though I never heard of domain shut-down in this case. Clean lists are usually consists of forums that are abandoned or owned by people who do not care about spam and do not write complaints.

The links are added to profiles. Spamming on forum posts is a disaster waiting to happen.
We have white and black lists that are constantly updated. It's my job to stay on top of things, not yours.
