Also, there are many forums out there with a PR4 or better that have upgraded and their forum sits on a new sub-domain. Their old forum homepage redirects but the old join page does not and you now have access to 1000's of free old forum threads to link from. My favorite thing to do is check the most popular thread and then quote the op with a link in it. Or if they are dumb enough to leave HTML-on a new landing page for a mass mail with anchor text link. ......... Big love here folks.
