Seems to be a lot more HD titles coming out. do I need a special DVD drive to read HD DVD?

right now I use AOA DVD ripper to cut clips in wmv from the DVD disk, then TMPGEnc Xpress to compress, add titles and filters.

my DVD ripper does not say it works with HD, but I don't know if that matters. what does everyone use to copy the DVD/ make wmv files?

I know TMPGEnc Xpress handles HD but Im not sure about needing a different drive, or the software to capture from the DVD.

I have mailed two content providers, but none have responded.
