I read on Wikipedia the growth of population:

1 billion in 1804
2 billion in 1920's (120 years per billion)
3 billion in 1960's (40 years per billion)
4 billion in 1980's (20 years per billion)
5 billion in 1990's (~10 years per billion)
6 billion in 2000's (~10 years per billion)
7 billion in 2011 (? years per billion from here on out)

So Wikipedia says that suddenly the population growth is expected to DROP? Wiki says population expected to reach between 8 and 10.5 billion in the year 2050?!?!?

Hell we will be at 8 billion in 2016 (5 years per billion), 10 billion at 2020 (2 years per billion), and will be a billion each year after that.

I disagree with anyone that thinks we can control ourselves. We will reach 35 billion still be totally out of control at 2050.

If the population doubles every 40-60 years, why would the trend stop now?
