i believe that there was a dude named jesus that cruised around and was a pretty good guy. probably smoked a lot of weed, but was he the son of god.. no he was not...

the bible is just a book that was created out of many stories passed down from generation to generation with the intention of keeping some type of civil order through fear..

human beings are inherently evil creatures that are only interested in self preservation.. its actually built into our genetic code..

without some type of fear based moral guide, we would run around slaughtering each other and it would be survival of the fittest at its finest..

i suspect that a bunch of weaker people were responsible for a lot of the content of the bible..

like david vs goliath was probably created by some little guy that was tired of getting his ass kicked and made a story up so that people might take heed of a little guy..

etc etc...

if a god truly existed, there would not be as much suffering in the world as there is..

and yes, i know the christians can explain that away, but the fact is that until you have seen a child that has been beaten to within an inch of his life or a child slowly dying from the ravages of cancer, the fact that a god does exists probably seems like a pretty neat idea...
