Yes, he did serve his time and according to our society, he is free to move on with his life as he should. The problem I have is that what he did really speaks to what kind of person he is. Making one mistake at one point in time is totally different from building an entire network to torture and kill dogs over years and years. Wasn't there some sort of electro-shock rack he built?
I know he says he loves dogs, but that sounds like the abusive guy who says he loves his wife, but beats her all the time and eventually kills her. There is some sort of mental disturbance in people who frame "love" like that. But, with all that being said, if he truly regrets what he did and continues to stay on the right path, then he has every right to continue with his career and make money and prosper.
