In my hometown it would get you a decent 2 bedroom apartment in a nice neighbourhood. Or you could buy 2 and have 50% equity in both and rent them out for close to $1000 a month and make some decent money on them.
I have 2 rental places in my hometown, both rented out, both mortgages being covered for me and only 15 years to pay on each of them with around 40-45% equity in both. Also both valued around the 90-100k pounds mark.
You just have to know your market.
