The only way now to get good page rank in google is to have original content and quality or authoritative links to your site. The days of the article farms, link farms is over.
Any SEO worth their salt will tell you to build blogs and post original content with links to specific products or services that you offer so that the keywords on the blog and the targeted page match.
Even still, SEO may bring more traffic but not always paying traffic. Ads still are the major source of traffic still.
