There is pressure from family and temple from the long standing belief that you are not a real Jew unless born to a Jewish mother. So in this case, your children will never be accepted, if the mother converts to something other than Judiasm.

Theoretically it's correct. From a religious perspective that is. If you don't ever plan on being religous, that's fine. But if you do, that doesn't work and you'd have to go through a conversion process that borders on the insane.
