I believe them it was a combination of beer, and dutch/italian temperament colliding with the German temperament. Like a bump in a disco can end in a fight when there is too much alcohol involved. If you start an interesting drunk conversation at 2:00 and both are a little bit irritaded you can see some things less clear. But they worked it out when they get sober the next day and had a good talk.
