Sometimes people put a high number on a domain, because they do not want or have to sell it right away. Sometimes waiting for the big fish is worth the wait.
I had a domain listed at 1K, that I paid $100 for. I did sell the domain for $850, three years later!
The domain cost me almost nothing to keep as I had gool adsense on it.
