It does not say "the President needs approval from Congress".

When Bush was in office Obama said the President does not have the right to engage in military action without approval from Congress, when clearly he did. Now that Obama is office he's changed his tune.

It's no longer about what's right or wrong. Instead, they twist the laws to attack each other. We used to have this concept that you support whomever is in office no matter what unless it's drastic - drastic as in about to be impeached - but now we just bash whomever publically.
While correct on what that act says, your understanding of what is going on is incorrect......

Congress has also signed other acts, binding us to the United Nations Charter and Nato. In short, Congress allowed our Military to take part in UN missions that fall under the charter rules. And Libya, falls under those rules.

As well, Obama DID inform Congress that we were taking part in the UN mission.

While I do agree our Gov does do a bit of what they like, in the case of Libya, Obama did not bend or break any rules or laws.
