Yeah... water drops right off your body when you deplete yourself, lower sodium intake and burn off a lot of stored glucose and start pissing/sweating a lot of water out with a diminished ability to store water when you drink more.
Burning fat on the other hand... you won't lose 1 pound a day unless you are starving yourself while climbing Mt Everest for speed... or unless you are morbidly obese at your starting point.
