But that's tough when fighting Dawn of the Dead (remake) type zombies. I mean, getting into melee range with one of those is dangerous. For Night of the Living Dead zombies, sure. An axe, machete or even a small hatchet is more than adequate.
I prefer guns for all of my zombie slaying duties. As far as caliber goes, anything worth doing is worth over-doing, amirite?
