Britain brought in free health care in 1948, after being almost wiped off the map by Hitler, still recovering from the destruction of WWII, the British economy, like the cities, in ruins, losing its Empire, rationing of food still in place (till the 50s) and the medical establishment opposing and resisting it. And they did it. And despite the initial resistance, today you won't find anyone in the NHS who doesn't support free health care.
Billions can be pulled out of thin air to bail out the wealthy and connected, or to kill people thousands of miles away, but no money can ever be found to protect and look after poor Americans at home?
Why is it people can accept the concept of free education, but not free healthcare? WTF is the point of a society that doesn't even have, as its first priority, the welfare of its own members?
