Vivid has built up so much brand equity over the years that it doesn't even need to be news. They use CNN and TMZ much in the same way that many people in the industry use XBIZ. It's beautiful. Not only that, but every time they get mentioned on one of those two sites, dozens of websites and blogs pick up the story and linkback or mention Vivid. The reason I wrote that celebrity thing above was because I wanted to get in on that action. TMZ specifically.

I don't think I had ever even read anything on TMZ beforehand, I just knew that Vivid had a contact there and that I wanted to write something that would be good enough to where they would hopefully help me in getting it picked up. A painstaking amount of detail was put into that piece. From the TMZ friendly way that it's worded to the Clemence Poesy/Chloe Sevigny parallel. While a mention on TMZ is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, I fucking hate link exchanges, refuse to link to crap, and would rather take the time to do something like that than waste away on linkspun. Oh well. So it goes.
