Well the fisheye lens gives the horizon curvature which makes one think its taken at an altitude where the earth's curvature can been seen with the naked eye.
The object flying is just an aircraft with a contrail that is either natural or produced synthetically like they do in air shows.
The image has been manipulated in PS for things like color, saturation and contrast.
Its a nice view that is not common to the average person and his photographic technique allows the average person's mind to wander.
