it really depends on what you want, think you will need.

Ive had a ton of plans over the years, some that had $0 copay for visits but didn't cover shit in terms of work, then others that had a $50 copay and covered full.

My last visit I had to get a crown. The way my dental insurance read, they covered 60% of everything then 80% after I spent $1000 up to an additional $1000. However, in their fine print, they classified what they deemed necessary work and getting a crown was "not necessary." They stopped responding to my letters and calls and I am out over $900.

So if you are the kind of guy that has to get a lot of cavities filled or work done, get insurance around that, versus if not, then just go for the low office visit.
