Let's say the level of Soft to Hard is the Speed
e.g. Sexy = 20mph, Softcore (Playboy) = 50 mph and Hardcore = 100 mph
What's the most exciting thing about those speeds? If your cruising at 100 mph is that as exciting as accelerating from 0 to 50 in a few seconds? Of course not, the acceleration is the key.
Hence it is the rate of change of context that we're interested in. For example, let's say you're watching a Kylie Minogue video on MTV, it's sexy i.e. 20mph, but then suddenly, even though it's daytime and Kylie Minogue never does things like this, she suddenly strips completely naked. That's represents serious acceleration, from 20mph to 50mph in a second, that sends a rush of blood to the to your penis so fast it's going to be difficult to control.
It's the acceleration that makes people lose control, the rate of change of context. So, ideally, you need to work out where the top desired speed of your surfer's is, then have them accelerating towards it rapidly, just before they reach their top speed ask for their money before you allow them to reach their top speed. Rapidly changing the context is key.
