I was really looking forward to this show and have a great deal of love for news however I have some issues with it. To be known, I quite literally grew up in a tv newsroom and know a great deal about behind the scene world of production news.
1. He's an asshole and I find myself not caring if he's successful or fails, bad character development
2. This takes place in 2010 but the 'news set' is a style and design that would of been used in the early 90's and never would look like that.
That leads to the biggest problem I have with the show the timeline of what a newsroom would be like is all over the place, you never get a sense of when things are taking place and everything feels like it's jumping periods of time.
